Mitchell Law Firm PC Artificial Intelligence Transparency Notice
Mitchell Law Firm PC (“the Firm”) may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) systems that include generative AI and traditional machine learning tools in limited, supervised ways to support our legal services and internal operations. These tools are used to assist Firm personnel—AI does not replace attorney judgment, and the Firm remains responsible for the work product and advice we provide.
How the Firm may use AIDepending on the matter and the task, the Firm may use AI tools to help with activities such as:
- Drafting and editing support: Generating initial drafts of routine documents (e.g., letters, summaries, checklists, timelines, or template-based materials) for attorney/staff review and revision.
- Summarization and organization: Summarizing documents, correspondence, notes, transcripts, or discovery materials to aid review and issue-spotting.
- Research assistance: Helping locate, organize, or summarize information from publicly available sources or internal Firm reference materials, subject to independent verification.
- Knowledge management: Searching and surfacing relevant internal precedents, clauses, and Firm-created resources.
- Administrative support: Assisting with scheduling, task tracking, or preparing internal drafts and communications.
The Firm constrains AI use to appropriate, defined use cases and does not rely on AI as the sole basis for legal conclusions or client-facing advice.
What information AI tools may use AI tools may work from one or more of the following inputs, as appropriate to the task:
- Public or generally available information (for example, laws, regulations, and publicly available guidance)
- Firm knowledge resources (such as internal templates, checklists, and prior work product where permitted)
- Matter-specific information you provide to us or we generate during representation, only when necessary for the task and consistent with confidentiality obligations
Privacy, confidentiality, and data security
The Firm uses measures designed to safeguard confidentiality and client data, which may include:
- Limiting AI access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis
- Using secure configurations and enterprise/privacy settings where available
- Applying data minimization (sharing only what is needed for a task) and, when appropriate, de-identification/redaction
- Maintaining vendor due diligence and contractual safeguards when using third-party AI tools (for example, controls around data handling, retention, and use)
Human oversight and quality controls
The Firm provides ongoing human oversight of AI-assisted work. This includes:
- Attorney or trained staff review of AI-generated content before it is used in our work product or shared externally
- Checking for accuracy, completeness, citation reliability, and relevance
- Monitoring for and mitigating potential bias or inappropriate outputs
- Ensuring the final advice and decisions reflect professional judgment and applicable ethical obligations
Important limitations of AIAI systems can generate content that may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading, including “hallucinations” (confident-sounding but incorrect statements). For that reason:
- Do not rely solely on AI-generated content for legal, business, or other high-stakes decisions.
- The Firm will validate AI-assisted outputs as part of our review process, but no system is error-free.
Applicability and client options
Not all matters, clients, or services involve the use of AI tools. The relevance of this notice depends on the services being provided and the tools used for a specific engagement.
